Excursion to the historical center of Irkutsk city (1,5-2 hours)

"Irkutsk is a historical city. It plays a remarkable role in the Russian history and it's not accidentally called the city-museum. Irkutsk saves many ancient monuments, romantic look, church cupola's lighting upon the blue current of Angara River.

We'll go round historical center of Irkutsk, where in 1661 the first Irkutsk fortress was founded. We'll see the historical ensemble:
- Tihvinskaya (Kirov) square
- Spaskaya (Savior) church
- Epiphany Church
- The Polish Roman Catholic church
- etc

Excursion to Listvyanka village situated on the shore of lake Baikal (1 day)

We'll go to Listvyanka (68 km/from Irkutsk) yearly morning by bus. We'll have an excursion in the Museum of Lake Baikal (Limnological Museum) that provides information about the origin and wild life of the lake.
The unique exhibits of Baikal Museum tell about the origin and the history of the lake, its flora and fauna, geological structure, climate and tectonics of Pribaikalye. Stuffed birds and animals. Collection of minerals. Models of the lake bed showing its history, the peculiarities of its shoreline and bottom. Baikal fish (omul, golomyanka, kharius, sturgeon, taimen, pike). Microorganisms inhabiting Baikal waters and destroying everything that might pollute the lake. Exhibits found in scientific expeditions. You can watch 20-minute film "The Planet's Well" with unique shots made with the help of a deep-sea submersible vessel "Pisces" at the deepest point, 1637 m, of the lake.
From the museum, a path climbs to an observation point with excellent views of the lake and mountains, Port Baikal and the Angara River. We'll go to that Cherskii stone by the chair lift and go back by foot (2,5 km.).
We'll go to restaurant in Listvyanka village for lunch. You'll can odder the traditional Siberian meals ("uha" (fish soup), a variety of hot- or cold-smoked and salted omul and grayling fish).
We'll go back in Irkutsk by bus from the bus station

Excursion to "Taltsy" museum of wooden architecture of Eastern Siberia and to Listvyanka village situated on the shore of lake Baikal (1 day)

We'll go to "Taltsy" Museum of Wooden Architecture of Eastern Siberia (47 km., half way from Listvyanka to Irkutsk) yearly morning by bus.
Museum of Wooden Architecture "Taltsy" has a unique collection of historical and architectural monuments dates to XVII-XX centuries on the territory of 67 hectares. There are 40 architectural monuments, 9000 exhibits, 13 expositions. Museum was established in 1966, and opened for visitors in July 1980. The first wooden buildings were carried from the territory that was flooded after the construction of Ust-Ilimsk Hydro electric station. "Taltsy" is a real history of wooden crafts of Pribaikalye.
At least 2 hours excursion gives you the impression of the style of life in the 16th to 19th century Russian villages and Buryat and Evenk gears. You can observe the interior of a Russian fort, a Siberian izba (house) cut from the larch tree more than 300 years ago without using a nail, a Shaman gear and etc.
There is a fair here where you can bye hand-made souvenirs made by the local artists.
From the museum we'll go to Listvyanka village (68 km. from Irkutsk).
We'll have a short stay opposite the "Shaman rock" in the outlet of Angara River, the sacred place for local population. After the construction of Irkutsk Hydro electric station the water level in Baikal increased on 1,5 meters and now it's possible to see only the highest point of the legend rock only in good weather.

One day tour to Circum Baikal Railway (To the shore of Baikal Lake)

Our rout starts from the railway station yearly morning. We'll bye tickets to the station "Dark fold" (about 2,5 hours on way).
From the station, a "Health path" goes down to the small village near the station "Old Angasolka" (Circum Baikal Railway) on the Baikal coast.
"Health path" doesn't have this name by chance. It leads travelers from the station to aspen forest, that how legend says takes away bad negative energy from people. And cedar forest (Siberian pine tree) that meets travelers further along the path gives positive mood. You can drink from two holly springs with "alive" and "dead" water, that give you new forces to continue your way.
There is a food store and a museum dedicated to the famous artist N.K. Rerih. The exposition represents his pictures, expedition route etc.
Here you can taste hot- or cold-smoked and salted omul cooked by the locals.
Here you can admire beautiful view of the lake.
Circum Baikal Railroad is a unique monument of technical thought and construction architecture of Russia at the end of the 20th century. It's one of the transport wonders. The railroad is making its way through the rocks of the Maritime mountain ridge over Baikal. "The Golden Clasp" connecting East and West of Transsib. Circum Baikal Railroad is one of the most beautiful and technically sophisticated railroads. 39 tunnels, 47 galleries, 6 viaducts, 29 medium-sized metal bridges, 411 small bridges were built. The longest tunnel is 807 meters long; the largest single-span bridge is 123 meters long. Today you can see well-preserved portals and arches of different tunnels made from ashlars, a lot of viaducts, thick retaining walls, and wooden constructions in modernist style of the beginning of the last century.
The most architecturally complex part of the railway goes from the station "Old Angasolka" to "Marityi". There are 2 tunnels, 1 gallery and 2 remarkable complexes of viaducts on the section 147-149 km. From the other side of the village stand abandoned galleries.

One day tour "Going to see Giants"

Siberian taiga forest with mushrooms and berries, mountain fast flowing river with clean transparent water, conglomerations of giant rocks, covered by the many-colored lichens and moss-grown, and awfully they - Giants of Siberian Taiga.
Near the river with clean water you'll make a picnic on the camp fire. You'll collect herbs and prepare healthful tea.
Our rout starts yearly morning from the railway station.
We'll bye tickets on the train from the station "Irkutsk" to the station "Orlenok" (1,5 hour takes our way).
From the station, a path goes through the forest across the rivers of stone conglomerations to the Rocks of Olhinskoe plateau. Giant Rocks "Vityaz" and "Idol" appear on our way. It gives an impression that Giants played here putting stones like building bricks and created such fantastical constructions.
"Vityaz" - 40 meters granite wall in Olha river valley. A pulling helmet over its eyes, nose and determined chin could be distinctly seen on the south-eastern side.
"Idol" - 30-meters column with a weighty stone "hat" reminds statues from Easter Island.
You'll overpass temporary log bridge across the mountain river (if you want you can swim in it), overpass conglomerations of giant rocks. You'll burn a camp fire to cook a meal, and many other things under the care of guide.

The train will go through the most beautiful tunnels of Krugobajkalsky road, along Baikal coast. You'll be expected by beautiful views, pure Baikal air and the Baikal nature. In salons "Krugobajkalsky express train" all is thought over to trifles: easy chairs, pleasant music, the attentive and benevolent personnel. The guide fascinatingly tells stories about Krugobajkalsky railway.
During a way excursion stops in the most interesting and beautiful places with exits accompanied by our guide.
Excursions are carried out on an electric train of the raised comfort.
On Wednesdays and Saturdays we go by train (from station Irkutsk-sorting at 7:40, from station Irkutsk-passenger at 8:05. To Slyudyanka the train follows without stops, from Slyudyanka (at 10:15) directly excursion program - with excursion stops, exits accompanied by the guide begins.
After the arrival in Port Baikal you visit a station building, you are expected by change on steam-ship "Babushkin" - the closed, comfortable, convenient vessel which delivers you to village Listvyanka where change on the buses going to Irkutsk. The trip comes to the end nearby 22:00.
On Thursdays and Sundays the route is presented in mirror display: we take the bus (departure at 9:30), then - a ferry, and a trip by a comfortable train "Krugobajkalsky Express train" to Irkutsk in the morning. At 11:30 the train goes from the port Baikal.
During a trip the train does some stops in from 20 minutes. The excursion program with exits accompanied by the guide, a stop in the most interesting places.
About ten o'clock in the evening the train arrives to Irkutsk.
From the end of June additional route on Fridays and Saturdays is entered: It'll be carried out by rail buses (diesel engines-cars) of I class.
